Answered on your Mac.
Plus and Max can download signed, versioned knowledge releases. Locke verifies every part before activating it and keeps the previous release available for rollback.
What is in it today
The first release is Wikipedia, prepared for offline retrieval on your Mac. Further sources are planned; every release lists exactly what it contains, so you can always see what you have rather than what was promised.
Provenance
Each release identifies its sources, snapshot date, edition, license, size, minimum app version, and cryptographic hashes. Sources used in an answer are shown below that answer.
Attribution and licence
Wikipedia content is © Wikipedia contributors and is used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence. Locke reformats and indexes that text for offline search — the wording is not otherwise altered, and no editorial claim is made over it. The prepared corpus is redistributed under the same CC BY-SA 4.0 licence.
What Plus and Max pay for is preparation and delivery — building, signing, hosting, and keeping releases current — not exclusive rights over the underlying text. Wikipedia remains free at wikipedia.org, and each release notes the snapshot date it was taken from.
What happens when access ends
New downloads and updates pause. A compatible release already installed on your Mac remains usable there, without an active session or network connection.
